I finally put together a list. here goes:

1. Stephen Steinbrink - "Ugly Unknowns" CD (Gilgongo) - beautiful pop offerings from stephen. minimal, heartfelt and honest songs from one of Arizonas best (if not the best) all the times i saw him live in '09 were consistently good.

2. Chauchat - "songs for scaffolding" (??) - this was released digitally through tyler whitney. and it is a special record. noisey / shoegaze indie rock from the unread stable.

3. Kids Of The Atomic Age - "finale" cassette (Unread) - another lo-fi pop gem from byron allison on chris fischers Unread records. I've been a huge unread fan for quite some time and stick to my opinion of this being the best cassette ever on unread. unreal.

4. Christopher Riggs - "home of the glassman" c-71 tape (Holy Cheever Church) - longest release from chris to date. two guitars being played (bowed?) at the same time, and, according to chris there were no overdubs. listening to this is unreal. just really damaged guitar jams.

5. Paul Flaherty / Jeff Hartford - "live collab" 1-Sided LP (American Tapes) - it's always special to hear Flaherty blow the hell out of the sax. and the fact that he continues to collaborate with weirdos from the noise scene is great. the best AM TAPES release this year. a pure pleasure.

6. Bill Dixon / Aaron Siegel / Ben Hall - "weight / counterweight" LP (Brokenresearch) - it's always great to hear dixon. and this trio was impressive. really subdued and sparse free jazz.

7. Cotton Museum - "pus pustules" 1-Sided LP (Tasty Soil) - heard about this guy via his incredible art and him being 1/2 of SLITHER w/ heath moerland. got this one not too long ago and was instantly impressed. really creepy and damaged theremin noise.

8. Dunebuggy - "s/t" cassette (Night People) - lo-fi rock offerings from taterbug and garbes. organ and guitar. drums turned up real loud. i loved this tape from the second i turned it on. a cover of wild thing? really? incredible.

9. Tovah Olson / Tony Conrad - "let there be music" 1-Sided LP (Tovinator) - reading olsons description and wanting to hear more of both these people i knew i had to get it. this one was short, a quick live date and it is denitely a good one. glad it got the vinyl treatment.

10. Cardboard Sax / Wasteland Jazz Unit - "split" LP (Community College) - heard this one awhile ago and was hooked from then on. i think i prefer the CS side but WJU tears it up as well. harsh noise with reeds fluttering in and out.

Hi. sorry for the severe lack of updates! life has been shitty and i might be packing my things up and moving to Prescott soon. Anyway, new stuff:

Hello,

August was a slow and incredibly hard month for me. Days were filled with depression / sleep and nights were sleepless. I thought about moving back to Prescott, but decided to give Flagstaff more time. Can i survive a bitter winter? I don't know if i have it in me, we'll see if things pick up.

LABEL: i'm neglecting it, i don't have much money right now so i'm not doing alot of stuff but the NPV release is really really close and i am excited about that. My dumb personal releases aren't big prioritie. right now. And the zines im working on arent either, so don't expect to see much from me for a while, although Sonoran Sunrise will be done soon and the first zine is pretty much done i just dont want to print them up. if you are a band / musical project and i really really like you i will put out a CDr for you and think about money later. so contact me.

SHOWS:OCTOBER 3rd w/ WHITMAN and CLARK 8 from CA. I'll be doing my usual stuff. I've been in a new project with my roomate, but i never practice with him cause im lame, but we'll be playing a show soon as well.

OCTOBER 9th: i'm putting together a show for Stephen Steinbrink at the house, keep an eye out for the full details.
